Capsule endoscopy lets your doctor examine the middle lining of the gastrointestinal tract and evaluate the small intestine, which cannot be reached by traditional upper endoscopy or colonoscopy. He can search for a cause of bleeding. It helps with detecting polyps, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease), ulcers, abnormal blood vessels and tumors of the small intestine.
